Handy Net Tools
A handy network diagnosis application
Quick Guide
This application has four basic network diagnosis tools with matrix, graphical charts, lists, and useful CIDR calculator.
Quick Guide
Scan subnet
Ping stats
Traceroute
Web stats
CIDR calc
Scan subnet
Scans hosts in a subnet, from 24bits to 32bits mask.
Scan protocol/port, ICMP, HTTPS, SMB etc., can be selected.
Configuration Panel
Results Panel
Ping stats
Ping tool, using UDP or ICMP. It calculates statistics and draws trend chart, histogram charts in linear/logarithmic horizontal axis to see normal/lognormal probability distribution.
List and trend chart show latest 1,000 ping response. Even If there are more than 1,000 results, statistics and histogram charts show values calculated with all results from the beginning.
Configuration panel
Results panel
Traceroute
Traceroute to specified IP or hostname. Result is shown in a list and per hop latency chart. Responding routers are shown in IP and its AS number/organization name. Note that router’s IP and even number of hops can change frequently. This tool determines number of hops before starting test.
Configuration panel
Results panel
Web stats
Web stats tool gets response time from HTTPS server. Two values of latency, TCP/TLS connection time and HTTP GET response is measured. If received redirection, response before redirection and final url response will be measured separately. Multiple redirection response is accumulated.
This tool executes tests continuously until user stops it. The first response is often large since the second and after responses will come from server cache or CDN cache. if you’d like to eliminate it, please restart test.
Tests are limited to HTTPS since Apple doesn’t recommend to use HTTP. Protocol (https://) part in URL isn’t required. Please note that, if you put “http://” in URL, it will forcibly be converted to “https://”.

CIDR calc
CIDR aggregation (route aggregation) calculates aggregated CIDRs from provided CIDRs.
CIDR subtraction calculates the result of subtracting Excluded CIDRs from Master CIDRs.
Cnv.On/Off (Conversion On/Off) buttons enable/disable automatic conversion from a CIDR to network CIDR using CIDR’s mask. When disabled, non-network CIDR will be ignored in calculation, and shown as ignored input CIDR row. For instance, 10.0.0.1/8 will be converted to 10.0.0.0/8 if enabled. If you want to avoid typing errors, we recommend turning it off. There are two buttons on the panel and they are linked with each other.
